Welcome to The Toolshed, an interactive knowledge base designed to help both experienced and beginning farmers access resources on a variety of topics from the basics of getting started to the nitty gritty of insurance and risk management to planning for new markets or farm enterprises.
While this knowledge base was created by the New Mexico Farmers’ Marketing Association, our goal is for this to be an ever-evolving site as farmers and ranchers (like you, maybe even you!) contribute their stories and feedback on these resources. We hope that this can both provide valuable information as well as serve as an online space for producers to ask and respond to each others’ questions.
How much does it cost?
It’s 100% free! You can read a few articles anonymously, but once you reach our limit, you’ll need to register for an account which is free and takes just a minute.
How do I use it?
The Toolshed is divided into a number of sections, each of which will have a big picture overview of key points/questions, as well as links to more in-depth resources, and stories from producers about how they’ve dealt with a particular challenge. Most users will want to skip to the section or search for a topic that is most relevant to their current needs, but those in early stages of their farm or ranch business, may want to read from beginning to end. We also hope to make this an evolving and interactive platform for farmers and ranchers to share questions, problems and solutions. Please help by asking a question, answering one, or sharing a resource that’s been helpful to you!
